Great Dane (Harlequin) - Vintage Painting on velvet (Early 20thC)
Unique piece of artwork, probably dating from the early 20thC, with a Harlequin Great Dane, painted on brown velvet. It is understood that this picture was originally owned by the late Bill Siggers, world-renowned breed specialist and show judge.
We are informed that the previous owner of this picture purchased it from the estate of the late Bill Siggers. The dog is unnamed and the picture is undated and it may be that it depicts one of the Harlequin Great Dane champions owned by James Voase Rank (Ouborough), for whom Siggers was the kennel manager. However, it could even pre-date that kennel and may be a dog from the early years of the 20thC.
This lovely picture is framed behind glass and measures 15" x 12".
